About Me

I was born and raised in northern New Brunswick in the small town of Dalhousie. I first moved to Fredericton in 1994 to attend UNB where I earned a BBA, BA (English), and MA (English). Except for a few years (2004-10) working out west in Alberta, I have lived here since.

I am a freelance writer and editor, and I am the author of two books of poetry - Defining Range (Gaspereau Press, 2006) and Terminal Moraine (Thistledown Press, 2008). I volunteer extensively in the arts and culture sector as a board member of the WFNB, as Poetry Editor of The Fiddlehead magazine and as Associate Poetry Editor with Goose Lane editions, Canada’s oldest independent literary publisher. From time to time you may hear me on CBC’s Information Morning as Local Books Columnist. In the last year, I have also taught as part-time faculty at St. Thomas University and as an editor at Skillsoft.

I live on Watters Dr. with my wife, Sherry Coffey, and my son, Wyatt, who attends Barkers Point School.
